Subject Re: Cancellation of Clearpost Subscription
Status DRAFT v2, not sent. Awaiting your go.
v2 fixes the line breaks. v1 hard-wrapped every paragraph with
at about 68 characters. That reads fine on a wide screen and breaks badly on a phone, because the client re-wraps text that is already wrapped. It left orphan words on their own lines: "is", "the", "nothing", "all", "need". No manual line breaks anywhere now. Paragraphs flow, and the mail client wraps them to whatever width the reader has.
The Stripe warning is cleared. You cancelled effective immediately, so "your subscription is cancelled" is now true and this is safe to send.

Hi Fahimeh,

Thank you for letting me know, and no problem at all. Your subscription is cancelled effective immediately. You will not be charged again.

There is nothing else you need to do on your end. If you want to remove the plugin you can deactivate it in WordPress, but there is no rush and nothing breaks if you leave it.

One thing worth knowing: the articles we already wrote for you are yours to keep. You have 21 finished drafts sitting in your WordPress right now, all ready to publish whenever you like. They do not expire and they do not need ClearPost to stay live. The 24 already published stay exactly as they are.

If you are open to it, I would value one honest sentence about what did not work. I am asking for my own sake rather than to talk you out of anything. Either way, thank you for giving it a run.

The formatting rule, so this does not recur

Never hard-wrap the body of an email. Not in the HTML preview, and not in the plain text we send. One paragraph is one unbroken line. The reader's client decides the width.

My habit was to insert
every ~68 characters so the preview matched a terminal-width plain-text email. On a 390px phone the client then wraps the already-wrapped line, and every one of my breaks becomes a ragged short line. The wider the paragraph, the worse it looks.

The send path converts
to \n, so those hard breaks were going out in the real email too, not only the preview. This was never only a preview bug.

What this email does and does not do

It does not try to save the account. She wrote a clear, formal cancellation and asked two specific questions. Answering with a pitch would be the wrong response to a direct request.

It answers both her questions. "Confirm the cancellation has been processed" and "let me know if there are any final steps". The answers are yes, and none.

It gives her something real. 21 finished articles are sitting in her drafts. She paid for them.
