Subject Six posts live, and one fix worth more than all of them
Status SUPERSEDED, never sent. The trial expired 2026-08-23 02:28, so this draft's "your trial ends Sunday" and "two days is enough time" are both false now. The day-7 results email went instead: nappycare-day7-2026-08-23.html
Delivery is excellent. 6 posts on 6 consecutive days, zero generation errors, all 6 live and verified by wp_post_id. Coverage 6/5 days = 120%. Trial expires 2026-08-23 02:28 UTC, so about 2 days.
The finding that drives this email. All 6 posts link to zero of their 92 products. The swaddle guide says "swaddle" 28 times and links to their swaddle product 0 times. The co-sleeper guide links to 3 of its own blog posts and 1 external site, babycentral.co.nz, which is a competing NZ baby retailer. This is our defect, and the email owns it.
The single question: "What would you change?" It comes after two concrete offers, so answering is easy and the offers stand either way.

Hi,

Five days in, and your trial ends Sunday, so here is an honest read.

ClearPost has published six posts, one a day, with no failures: the newborn essentials checklist, the swaddle guide, the co-sleeper bassinet guide, a second essentials piece, breastfeeding essentials, and the baby bath seat guide. All six are live.

Two things I would fix, and the first one is on us.

Those six buying guides link to none of your products. The swaddle guide mentions swaddles 28 times and does not link to the swaddle you sell. The co-sleeper guide links out to babycentral.co.nz instead. For a blog that is fine. For a shop it is a hole in the floor. I can turn on product linking for your site today.

Second, you already rank for something and we have not used it. Your stroller sleeping bag page sits at position 33 for "stroller sleeping bag", 480 searches a month, plus five related terms. That is page four, which earns nothing yet, but it means Google already trusts you on that topic. None of the 36 posts we planned mention strollers. Supporting content aimed at that cluster is the cheapest ranking you own.

Coming up: baby towels, teething gel, tog ratings for NZ seasons, and the hospital bag checklist.

What would you change? Two days is enough time to act on it.

Christian

CORRECTION, v2. I removed a compliment that was false.

v1 of this draft said "You rewrote every single headline". He did not. Our own generator wrote most of those titles.

I compared the live titles against content_calendar.title and read the difference as customer edits. That was wrong. The generator writes its own final title into first_post_content.title or generated_post.title, separate from the planned calendar title. Comparing all three columns gives the real answer:

wp_post_idLive titleWho wrote it
12744Newborn Essentials List: Practical NZ Checklist forcustomer edit
12760Best Newborn Swaddle for Baby: Wrap, Arms-Up or Sleep Bag?unknown, no generated title stored
12824Co-Sleeper Bassinet Buying Guide for NZ Parentsgenerator
12849Newborn Essentials: What NZ Parents Actually Needgenerator
12883Breastfeeding Essentials: What to Buy Before and After Babygenerator
12939Baby Bath Seat: Which Type Works and Which to Skipgenerator

One confirmed customer edit out of six, not six. I cut the paragraph rather than rewrite it around a single edit. One headline tweak does not carry a compliment, and the two findings below are the real value of this email.

I found this while I babysat the onlinevideoplayer.net trial. Its first post also went live under a title that differed from the calendar, and that time I checked the generator column before I drew a conclusion. The same check then broke this draft and the thediningpost.com draft.

Finding 1: no product links, checked post by post

I pulled all six posts from their REST API and counted href targets.

PostLinks to /product/
All six ClearPost posts0
Co-sleeper guide, internal links3, all to other blog posts
Co-sleeper guide, external links1, to babycentral.co.nz

They sell anti-startle-swaddle-for-newborn-babies. The swaddle guide does not link to it. babycentral.co.nz returns 137 shop signals (/products/, cart) on its homepage, so it is a retailer, not a neutral reference.

The email says "this one is on us" and offers the fix in the same breath. It does not grovel and it does not hide the problem. Data over slop cuts both ways: if we claim outcome data is the product, we cannot bury an outcome defect we found ourselves.

Finding 2: the striking-distance cluster we ignored

DataForSEO ranked_keywords, cost $0.01272. Six ranking keywords, all pointing at one product page:

PosVolumeKeyword
2990infant stroller sleeping bag
33480stroller sleeping bag
4050sleeping bag for pushchair
41480sleeping bag for stroller
4550pushchair sleeping bag
4850sleeping bags for strollers

I grepped all 36 planned titles for stroller, pushchair, pram, and sleeping bag. Zero matches. The one topic Google already associates with this domain is the one topic the calendar skips.

The email is careful to say position 33 "earns nothing yet". Page four is not a win, and calling it one would be the vibes-language we refuse to use.

The soft close, and why it is that soft

The brief asked me to frame the value of continuing without being pushy. The email does that structurally rather than with words: it offers two things I will do during the trial, and it ends on "two days is enough time to act on it". No price, no renewal language, no urgency framing. If the fixes land, the value argument makes itself. If he answers with a complaint, that is worth more than a pitch.

Checks

If you approve, I would also like to do the work

The email promises "I can turn on product linking for your site today". That is a promise in your name, and I have not verified we have a per-site switch for it. Say yes and I will check the code first. If no switch exists, I will soften that line before I send.
