## The Channel Decision

After extensive analysis, the distribution hierarchy is clear:

| Channel | Audience Fit | Scale | Speed | Effort | Role |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| **Facebook groups** | ⭐⭐⭐ Excellent | ⭐⭐⭐ 500-2,000 clicks/post | ⭐⭐⭐ 24-48h | ⭐⭐ Medium | **PRIMARY** |
| **Reddit r/france** | ⭐⭐ Medium | ⭐⭐ 50-200 upvotes | ⭐⭐⭐ 24-48h | ⭐⭐ Medium | **AMPLIFIER** |
| **Content SEO** | ⭐⭐⭐ Excellent | ⭐⭐ Slow build | ⭐ Months | ⭐⭐⭐ High | **LONG-TAIL** |
| **WhatsApp groups** | ⭐⭐⭐ Excellent | ⭐⭐ Small but high-intent | ⭐⭐⭐ 24-48h | ⭐⭐⭐ Hard to enter | **SECONDARY** |
| **HN / Twitter** | ⭐ Low | ⭐⭐ Viral potential | ⭐⭐⭐ 24-48h | ⭐⭐ Medium | **AMPLIFIER** |

**Key insight:** Facebook is not optional. Even if you hate it, it's the only channel with both the right demographic (45-65 copropriétaires) AND sufficient scale (100k+ member groups).

**Christian's call:** Test Facebook despite reservations. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, we have the backup data.

## Phase 1: The Testing Framework (Week 1)

### 1.1 Facebook — Primary Channel

**Target groups:**
1. **"Copropriété et Syndic"** (~100k members) — THE target group
2. **"Copropriétaires en colère"** or similar (backup)
3. **"Paris 15ème"** / **"Paris 11ème"** (hyperlocal test)

**Post format:**
- Educational, not promotional
- Lead with a surprising stat from the tool
- Include a direct screenshot or GIF of the scorecard in action
- Soft CTA: "Typez votre adresse, c'est gratuit et ça prend 10 secondes"
- No link in first post (algorithm suppression) — add link in comment

**Example post:**
```
J'ai analysé le potentiel solaire de tous les immeubles du 15ème arrondissement.
Résultat : 23% des toits pourraient produire l'équivalent de 15 000€/an d'électricité.
Et le vôtre ? Tapez votre adresse ici → [lien en commentaire]
C'est gratuit, 10 secondes, pas d'inscription. Et surtout : si vous êtes en copropriété,
on vous explique exactement comment convaincre vos voisins à la prochaine AG.
(source : données publiques IGN + PVGIS)
```

**Success metric:** Clicks to tool in 48 hours
- **Good:** 200+ clicks
- **Great:** 500+ clicks
- **Kill Facebook:** <50 clicks

### 1.2 Reddit — Amplifier Channel

**Target subreddit:** r/france

**Post format:** Data journalism + Show HN style

**Title idea:**
```
J'ai calculé le potentiel solaire de chaque immeuble de Paris. Voici les arrondissements
où les copropriétés perdent le plus d'argent.
```

**Body:**
- 3-4 surprising findings (arrondissement comparison, age of building vs potential, etc.)
- One striking visualization (map snippet, data viz)
- Link to tool at the end
- Disclaimer: "Pas affiliation, pas de vente — juste un projet perso pour aider les copros"

**Success metric:** Upvotes + comments driving traffic
- **Good:** 100+ upvotes, 10+ comments
- **Great:** 500+ upvotes, press pickup
- **Kill Reddit:** <20 upvotes

### 1.3 Hacker News — Wildcard Amplifier

**Target:** Show HN

**Title idea:**
```
Show HN: I built a solar potential calculator for every building in Paris
```

**Angle:** Technical (IGN data, PVGIS API, open data), not commercial

**Success metric:** Front page = 10k+ visitors in 24 hours
- **Good:** 50+ upvotes, some comments
- **Great:** Front page
- **Kill HN:** <10 upvotes

---

## Phase 2: Test Results & Pivot Decision (Week 2)

**Decision tree based on Week 1 data:**

```
IF Facebook gets 200+ clicks:
  → DOUBLE DOWN on Facebook
  → Post in 3-5 more groups
  → Refine post format based on what worked
  → Start email capture + AG action plan workflow
IF Reddit gets 100+ upvotes:
  → Reddit becomes secondary amplifier
  → Write follow-up post with arrondissement-specific data
  → Use Reddit as press generation engine
IF HN gets front page:
  → Scale infrastructure immediately (CDN, etc.)
  → Prepare for press inquiries
IF ALL channels underperform (<50 clicks total):
  → Kill the free tool
  → Go directly to MultiplyMe (installer tool)
  → The market doesn't want free solar info
```

## Content SEO — The Compounding Layer (Weeks 2-8)

**Purpose:** Capture the long-tail search traffic from people who see the tool and later search for specific questions.

**Content topics (from manual research):**
1. "Comment installer des panneaux solaires en copropriété" (high search, no good answer)
2. "Vote AG panneaux solaires : majorité simple ou qualifiée ?" (legal gap)
3. "Autoconsommation collective copropriété : guide 2026" (technical + legal)
4. "Combien coûtent des panneaux solaires pour un immeuble de 20 appartements ?" (cost)
5. "Subventions panneaux solaires copropriété MaPrimeRénov CEE" (financial)

**Format:** Each article is 1,500-2,500 words, data-driven, with the tool embedded as an interactive element.

**SEO tools (free):**
- Google Keyword Planner (free with Ads account)
- AnswerThePublic (3 free searches/day)
- Google Search Console (once site is live)
- Reddit search (for topic validation)

---

## The Email Capture Moment

**Critical design decision:** WHEN to ask for email?

**Potentielsolaire's mistake (Christian confirmed):**
- Forces phone/email BEFORE showing results
- Creates friction, drops users
- Feels lead-gen spammy

**Our approach:**
1. Show results immediately (no gate)
2. After results, offer: "Recevez votre plan d'action AG personnalisé par email"
3. Optional, not required
4. Value exchange: they get the AG motion template; we get their email

**Why this works:**
- Trust is built by showing value first
- The AG motion is genuinely valuable (not available elsewhere)
- We pre-qualify: only serious copropriétaires will give email

---

## Measurement Stack

| Metric | Tool | Target |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks to tool | URL shortener (bit.ly) or server logs | 500+ in Week 1 |
| Email captures | Form backend (MultiplyMe server) | 10-50 in Week 1 |
| Bounce rate | Google Analytics or Plausible | <60% |
| Time on page | Analytics | >30 seconds |
| AG motion requests | Backend tracking | 5-20 in Week 1 |
| Source attribution | UTM params on each channel | See which channel converts |

**UTM structure:**
- Facebook: `?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=coproperty_group_1`
- Reddit: `?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=data_post`
- HN: `?utm_source=hackernews&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=show_hn`

---

## Risk Mitigation

**Facebook risks:**
- Post gets deleted by mods → rewrite as more educational, less promotional
- Account flagged → use personal account, not new/bot account
- Low engagement → try different groups, different post angles

**Reddit risks:**
- Downvoted as self-promotion → lead with data, not product
- r/france rules against links → post data in body, link in comment

**Technical risks:**
- Server can't handle traffic → HN front page = 10k requests/hour. Use Cloudflare or static hosting.
- IGN/PVGIS API rate limits → cache aggressively, fall back to simplified calculations

---

## Red Lines

- **No paid ads until organic proof exists** — if it doesn't spread for free, it won't convert with money
- **No dark pattern email gates** — show results first, ask for email second
- **No installer outreach** — this is a consumer experiment, not B2B sales
- **No building a full map unless the scorecard validates interest** — address-level tool first, map second (if ever)

---

## Next Immediate Action

**Christian, pick one:**

1. **Start with Facebook** — I write the post copy, you post it in "Copropriété et Syndic" (I'll need you to join the group first if not already a member)
2. **Start with Reddit** — I write the r/france data post, you post it
3. **Start with both simultaneously** — higher risk (can't A/B test which channel works), but faster validation
4. **Build the tool first, then distribute** — 2-3 days of dev work before any posting

**My recommendation:** Option 1 (Facebook first). It's the highest-probability channel. If it works, we scale. If it doesn't, we learned something valuable in 48 hours instead of 2 weeks.

Your call.
