Worth knowing for next time: api.wordpress.org still reported num_ratings: 3 when I checked. The API lags the reviews page. Anyone verifying a review ask must check the reviews PAGE, or they will conclude nothing happened and send a nag to someone who just did us a favour. I have recorded that on CP-148, 149 and 150 and closed all three so no follow-up can fire.

Short. He has now written three times and closed every loop himself. The correct response to a favour is thanks, not another paragraph.
"Generous thing to write for a product you are leaving" names the specific thing he did, rather than a generic thank you. It is also true, which is why it is worth saying.
No ask of any kind. No feedback request, no exit survey, no "one last thing". The relationship ends clean.
Repeated the 20th because it is the only administrative fact left and costs one line.
"With no expiry" on the return offer. He said he would keep it in mind, so making it open-ended is free and honest.
No em dashes. About 90 words.

Not included, deliberately

I did not respond to his industry point again. We already exchanged views on it, he agreed with the task-intent argument, and continuing would turn a thank you into a discussion he did not ask to reopen.
